All children ages 4 to 16 are welcome to sign up for Swim Lessons.

Swim lessons are offered to WSTC members only, at no cost.

Swim lessons are open to children of all abilities.

Swim lessons focus on proper stroke techniques. They are a great complement to the Swim Team practice!

For the 2026 season, swim lessons will be offered June 29 through August 7.

Swim lessons will take place 2 days per week in the morning for a total of 6 weeks. You may sign up your child for EITHER: Monday and Thursday lessons OR Tuesday and Friday lessons.

Swim Lesson Times:

  • Monday/Thursday
    • Level 1       11:30am –  Noon
      Level 2       10:50am – 11:20am
      Level 3       10:10am – 10:40am OR 11:30am – Noon
      Level 4       10:10am – 10:40am
      Level 5&6  10:50am – 11:20am
  • Tuesday/Friday
    • Level 1       11:30am –  Noon
      Level 2       10:50am – 11:20am
      Level 3       10:10am – 10:40am
      Level 4       10:10am – 10:40am
      Level 5&6  10:10am – 10:40am OR 11:30am – Noon

Swim Levels:

   Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills 

    • Taught on stairs in shallow end (3 ft)
    • Typical age is 4-6 years old
    • Children will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it

   Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills 

    • Taught on stairs in shallow end (3 ft)
    • Typical age is 5-6
    • Children will learn basic swimming skills

   Level 3: Stroke Development

    • Taught in deeper section of shallow end (3 ½-5 ft)
    • Typical age is 6-9 years old
    • Additional guided practice will help children improve their skills

   Level 4: Stroke Improvement 

    • Taught in lap lane (3 ½ – 7 ft)
    • Typical age is 8-11 years old
    • Children will gain confidence, improve their strokes, and gain additional aquatic skills
    • Child should be able to swim 1 meter length without stopping

   Level 5 & 6: Stroke Refinement & Skills Proficiency 

    • Taught in lap lane (3 ½ -7 ft)
    • Typical age is 9-14 years old
    • Children will learn to swim with ease and efficiency and gain the ability to swim smoothly over greater distances
